Eleventh blog ☆ MARLOWE [マーロウ]

Today, I will introduce 'Marlowe'. It's a store specializing in handmade pudding in a special container. The first store opened in Akiya, Hayama Town, and this pudding is so famous in the Kanagawa area. There are six stores in the Kanagawa area. Locations are Akiya store, Hayama store, Zuyou-shindou store, Zushi store, Yokohama Sogo store and the Chigasaki store. Also you can buy items by online shopping. I often buy them at the store. It's the most delicious pudding I have ever had. There are various flavors of pudding, but I like custard pudding the best. You can buy these puddings for about 800 yen. I feel like the price is expensive, but they are big and so delicious.

I went to the Hayama store with my friend after school last week for the first time. The Hayama store has located in  Horiuchi, Hayama Town. The Hayama store has a cafe, so we ate some puddings there. We went there on a weekday, so we could order 'Okawari-pudding' (900 yen). Okawari-pudding is a set menu item, and the second pudding becomes a little cheaper. This set has one drink and one pudding that you can choose from the menu. This set menu is weekdays only. First, I ordered hot tea and custard pudding. Secong, I ate pumpkin pudding (500 yen), which is on sale for a limited time. This pudding is usually 650 yen, but I ordered a second helping of pudding, so the price became a little cheaper. The taste was so delicious. There are various flavors of pudding that go on sale for a limited time each season.

The atmosphere at the Marlowe Hayama store is good, but you can't smoke there. This cafe has twenty-nine seats. There are terrace seats, and the seats are pet-friendly. I want to go there with my pet someday. When I went there by bus, it took time to arrive. If you go to the Hayama store, I recommend you go by car. There parking lot is big, with twelve parking spaces available.

In addition to at Hayama store, there is a cafe at the Akiya store, Zuyou-shindou store and Chigasaki store. At the Akiya store, there is a cafe and restaurant. You can eat meals there. I haven't been to the Akiya store. I want to go there and eat meal. Their meals look so delicious.

There are various set menu items. If you go at lunch time, you can have lunch a little cheaper. The store is located by the sea, so it has a very nice view. On weekends, it is crowded, because it is so popular. There are nice places around there, so you should go there. I think you can be satisfied with the good meals and atmosphere.

I recommend these puddings and stores. If you go to Hayama, please go to Marlowe. I want you to eat them at least once.

Tenth blog ☆ Honolulu Coffee [ホノルルコーヒー]

Today, I will introduce 'Honolulu Coffee'. It's a Hawaiian style cafe. In 1991, the first store was opened on a street corner in downtown Honolulu. This cafe is one of the my favorite cafes. I often go to this cafe. In this cafe's system, you can take a seat freely and you order and pay at the counter. After you order, the server makes the menu item. It's possible to eat and drink freshly made items. There are various drinks and food choices. You can choose a small size, medium size or large size drink. These drinks and menu items are not so expensive. I really like Starbucks Coffee, but Honolulu Coffee has the same quality.

My favorite menu item is pancakes. There are various types of pancakes. They are filling and delicious. I have eaten them many times. If you eat alone, I think these pancakes are very heavy. I went there alone last week to write this topic and I ordered hot cafe latte (medium size 420 yen) and a pancake with honey cream cheese (1000 yen). I waited about ten minutes until the it was done. This pancake has some raspberry and blueberry sauce and cream cheese on it. It was delicious, but so heavy and I was full. This pancake product is available for a limited time only, so if you want to eat 'Honey cream cheese pancake', you should go there quickly.

I also recommend you this cafe's tiramisu (Tiramisu of the Coffee Taste). It's popular menu item in this cafe and the price is 520 yen. When I looked at this tiramisu at first, I thought the tiramisu was in a cup, but the cup is made with chocolate. You can eat enjoy all. The taste is not so sweet, but it's delicious. I felt it was a little difficult to eat, but it's so cute. When I go there next time, I want to eat it again.

The atmosphere of Honolulu Coffee is good. They have a green motif, and the logo mark is so cute. This cafe is not so big, and not so crowded, so you can relax. If you go there alone, it's easy to enter this cafe. In the store, you can buy this cafe's coffee beans or coffee cups or various goods. You can drink them in your house. I haven't bought them yet, so I want to buy them someday.

Honolulu Coffee has various locations in Japan and Hawaii. I often go to this cafe at Mark Is Minatomirai store. The nearest Honolulu Coffee from Tsurumi University is the Mark Is Minatomirai store. It's connected to the Minatomirai Station, so it's easy to get there. When you go to the Mark Is Minatomirai store, please go this cafe. I want to go to the Hawaii store someday!!

Ninth blog ☆ Zou-no-hana cafe [像の鼻カフェ]

Today, I will introduce 'Zou-no-hana cafe'. The location of Zou-no-hana cafe is in Yokohama city, Kanagawa-ken. It is near the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse (Akarenga-souko), and it is in the 'Zou-no-hana park'. This cafe's menu items are so cute, because some of them are made in an elephant motif. In addition to elephant motif menu items, there are many kinds of meals and drinks and snacks. I want you to tell about this cafe's good point.

I know this cafe these days, so I went there with my friends after school last week. We ordered soft ice cream ('Zou-no-hana soft ice cream'). This soft ice cream is most popular item at this cafe. The  price was 350 yen and it was so cute and so funny. This soft ice cream expresses an elephant's face with waffle chips and chocolate chips. This soft ice cream was delicious. It was a rich taste and not so sweet. The taste of this soft ice cream is changes with a seasons. When I ordered this soft ice cream and received it from the server, I ate it slowly so the soft ice cream melted and fell down. I was really sad. But I really liked it and I recommend this soft ice cream. However if you order it, you should eat it quikly.

I went this cafe alone again today, and I ordered an ice-cream soda ('melon soda float') and a scone ('Zou scone'). Both elephant motif menu items are so cute and good. The price is ice-cream soda is 600 yen. Ice-cream soda is soft ice cream on the melon soda. It soft ice cream is elephant's nose motif. Ice-cream soda is popular menu item too. If you order soft drink and pay more 250 yen, you can your favorite ice-cream soda and ice-cream float.

The price is scone is 450 yen. Two loaf of scone and jam in the box. The flavor of the jam changes with a seasons. You can choose three kinds of scone jam. Today, I chose the jam raspberry and white peach. It is new flavor and taste was good. When you are a little hungry, this is good.

I recommend you these cute menu items, but another menu items are good and delicious too. For example, there are vegetable soup curry, tomato Keema curry, vegetable sandwich, ham sandwich, some kinds of tea and soft drinks. Also you can drink beer. If you have about 1,000 yen, you can a meal and drink.

The atmosphere at Zou-no-hana cafe is good. This cafe have some seats but you can takeout and eat outside. There are a few seats outside this cafe. When I went this cafe, some people had meal and ate soft ice cream out side. There is a good view and relax space around this cafe and you can see a Ferris wheel, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Osanbashi Pier, Yokohama Bay Bridge from a roof. I recommend you eat meal outside on a fine day, I think you feel good. Also, various events are hold this place. You can spend relax time and good time this cafe. If you have a free time, please go this cafe!

Eighth blog ☆ Obon-de-gohan [おぼん de ごはん]

Today, I will introduce 'Obon-de-gohan'. This is a cafe, but you can eat various set meals. This cafe's dessert is good, but I really like the set meals because they are healthy and delicious and you can eat a lot.

Obon-de-gohan is located at various locations. I often go to the one at Mark Is in Minatomirai, but this cafe is also at Lazona Kawasaki Plaza and Cial Tsurumi too. The Tsurumi location is near Tsurumi University, so if you have free time, you can go there easily. I often go there in my free time after school.

This cafe's menu items can provide a well-balanced diet. There are more than twenty items (for example, set lunch with beaf ('oniku-no-teishoku'), set lunch with fish ('osakana-no-teishoku'), set lunch with vegetables and bean soy curd ('oyasai-to-otoufu-no-teishoku'), a variety of udon noodles, a variety of boiled rice with hot tea ('otyazuke'), a variety of big bowl ('donburi-mono') and so on) of main dishes and three kinds of rice (white rice ('shiro-gohan'), brown rice ('genmai-gohan'), blend of white rice ('gokoku-hijiki-gohan'). If you order the set meals,you can choose one main dish and one rice and have some side dishes and miso soup. The rice and miso soup are all you can eat. The price of the set meals is about one thousand yen. At lunch time, it's a little cheaper and one soft drink is free. I think you will be very satisfied with these set meals.

I had gone there many times, but there are mani kinds of menu items so I can't decide my favorite menu item at this cafe. When I go there, I order a different menu item each time. I want to try to eat a lot of menu items.

I went to the Tsurumi store after school yesterday, I ordered the set meal with sukiyaki with yuzu and Okinawan-style bean soy curd and vegetables ('Shimadoufu-to-yasai-no-yuzusukini'). The price is 1,188 yen. I chose a blend of white rice ('gokoku-hijiki-gohan') among three types of rice. I ate this set meal for the first time. It was so healthy and the taste of  'yuzu' was good and like a 'sukiyaki'. The blend of white rice ('gokoku-hijiki-gohan') was good too. I had a second helping of rice, so I become very full.

 

Inaddition to these set meas, there are many kinds of dessert and drinks. Also, it's possible to drink alcoholic drinks. I ate azuki beans produced in Hokkaido with rice flour ('Hokkaido-azuki-to-shiratama) that day. It price is 584 yen. I really like maccha sweets so I liked it. This item has maccha ice cream, a rice-flour dumpling, azuki bean and fresh cream on crepe dough, with brown sugar syrup and soybean flour poured over it. The combination is good. The crepe dough is made with soba flour. It is soft, and taste is sood.

When I go there at lunch time, this cafe is crowded with people, from young people to elderly people. If you are single, it's easy to enter there. There are many customers too. Obon-de-gohan in Tsurumi is on the sixth floor of Cial Tsurumi at the east exit of JR Tsurumi Station. There is a good view from inside there.

I often went to fast food shops before I knew this cafe, but now I often go to this cafe. This cafe's menu items are so healthy and delicious and you can relax there. I really recommend these menu items. This cafe's menu items are many, so I want you to find your favorite menu items!

Seventh blog ☆ ROSIE'S CAFE [ロージーズカフェ]

Today, I will introduce 'ROSIE'S CAFE'. This cafe is located in the Lazona Kawasaki Plaza. When I go to Lazona with my friends, it's one of my favorite cafes. You can eat a Dutch Baby in this cafe. Dutch Baby is a German style pancake. It has a soft and chewy texture. It's delicious and different from the pancakes I've eaten before.

Pancakes are very popular among young people these days, but Dutch Baby is not well known. It is a food where the dough is poured into an iron plate and put into an oven.


In this cafe's system, you can take a seat freely and you order and pay at the counter. After you order, the server makes the menu items. It's possible to eat freshly made pancakes. You can choose regular size or small size, and you can add a topping to any pancakes. When I go to this cafe, I order regular size pancakes. I share the pancake with my friends. If you are alone, small size is good.

I went there these days and ordered 'ROSIE'S original' (Regular size 700 yen/Small size 600 yen) and orange juice. I waited for about ten minutes for my order. 'ROSIE'S original' (cream cheese and lemon and maple) is a recommendation on the set menu of the cafe. It's taste is plain and simple, but I like it.

There are many kinds of sweet pancakes. Moreover, there are not only sweet pancakes but also savory pancakes. For example, 'chili beans cheese', 'mushroom and tomato', 'tomato and avocado with sour onion sauce' and so on. I have not eaten savory pancakes yet, so I want to try them next time. All of them look so delicious. I like 'whipped banana chocolate' (Regular size 760 yen/Small size 670 yen) best of all. I often order it.

These pancakes are delicious but I recommend that you drink a 'milk shake' too. The  shakes are made from soft-cream. I feel the milk shakes are a little expensive, but they are so good. There are nine types of shakes. My favorite shake is 'deep mocha' (500 yen). It's not so sweet there is fresh cream on the shake. All shakes can be ordered for take-out.
 

The atmosphere at ROSIE'S cafe is good. This cafe has forty-three seats. You can't smoke there but you can relax and enjoy eating and it's easy for a single woman to enter there. Lunch time is crowded with women.

The location is on the fourth floor of Lazona Kawasaki Plaza at the west exit to JR Kawasaki Station. If you go to Lazona, please go to this cafe. When you have a spending hangover, I recommend there. I think you will like these pancakes.

Sixth blog☆Shigaraki-dyaya [信楽茶屋]

Today, I will introduce ‘Shigaraki-dyaya’. It is a ramen noodle restaurant. I found it when I was looking for a delicious ramen noodle restaurant in Tsurumi. In this ramen noodle restaurant, there are various types of ramen and they have some specialties. Their ramen tastes so good. 

There are three good points. The first point is they use 'active water.' The second point is they use natural salt. This is an important point too. The third point is they use springy noodle (noodles with more elasticity). These three points together make the most delicious ramen. In 2007, this restaurant received first place in the Yokohama Ramen ranking.

Today, I went there alone. It is easy for a single woman to enter this ramen restaurant. I ordered ‘Tantanmen’ (820 yen). There were two boiled eggs as well as Kujo leeks in the ramen. It’s delicious. I really like it. I don’t like spicy food, but this ramen is not so spicy.

In addition to the Tantanmen, there are many types of ramen noodles. For example, ‘Shio-ramen (670 yen),’ ‘Syouyu-ramen’ (620 yen), ‘Miso-ramen’ (670 yen), ‘Gekikara-ramen’ (850 yen), ‘Choukara-ramen’ (900 yen) and so on. I love ramen noodles so I have tried several varities; ‘Shio-ramen,’ ‘Shouyu-ramen,’ ‘Miso-ramen.’ I like ‘Shio-ramen’ among these ramen noodles. It is delicious. Shio-ramen is the most popular ramen noodle in this ramen noodle restaurant. They put a lot of laver (seaweed) in it and the taste is lightly seasoned.

I haven’t eaten ‘Gekikara-ramen’ and ‘Choukara-ramen’ yet. I think these ramen noodles are so hot, but I want to try to eat them someday.

You can add a topping to any ramen. Also, there are ‘Mochimochi-suigyouza’ (320 yen) and ‘Yaki-gyouza’ (380 yen) and many kinds of rice. I often order Mochimochi-suigyouza. 

The location of Shigaraki-dyaya is a little far from Keikyu Tsurumi Station. It takes about 5 minutes on foot from the station. This ramen noodle restaurant is open until late at night. This ramen noodle restaurant has a lot of delicious menu items. If you like ramen noodles, please go there once. You can eat delicious ramen noodles!!

Fifth blog☆Becker's [ベッカーズ]

In this post I will write about 'Becker's'. It's a hamburger and bakery cafe. It's like a fast food shop, but a little different. There are various menu items and combos in this cafe.

I sometimes go to this cafe. I went there to study last week. It was very cold on that day so I ordered 'Onion gratin soup' (330 yen). It had melted cheese in it and it was thick soup. It was hot and the taste was good.

Today, I recommend the 'Shinshu game meat shika-niku burger' (690 yen). This hamburger is 'Bekkaku' so it's more expensive than other hamburgers. I thought this hamburger was a little different, but I ordered it today. I waited about  ten minutes until the hamburger was done. Game meat means edible wild birds and beasts. Venison of Shinshu and abalone mushroom from Nagano and as well as onions are in this hamburger. A soup stock of  venison and red wine are used for the sauce of the hamburger. It has acidity. I have not eaten such a hamburger before. It is a very unusual hamburger, but the taste is delicious. The meat is thick and the combination with the abalone mush room is good. This hamburger product is available for a limited time only. There are other various 'Bekkaku' hamburgers too.

In the morning, you can eat 14 types of morning combos for about 500 yen. In addition to the hamburger, it is possible to eat croissant and toast. If you go to this cafe in the afternoon, there are 9 types of combos. You can add various side menu items for about 400 yen. The various side menu items are cheap. For example, there are French fries, chicken nuggets, hashed potatoes, poutine, mini penne, salad, apple pie, chocolate pie, and so on. If you have about 300 yen, you can eat these side menu items. My favorite side menu item is poutine (320 yen). It is French fries topped with cheese curds and you can choose one sauce from the 3 type of sauce. The three types of sauce, there are meat sauce, gravy sauce, walleye Pollack sauce. This photo's sauce is gravy sauce. Poutine is Canadian food. I ate it for the first time in this cafe and now I like it.

The location of Becker's is near the JR Tsurumi Station, and it takes one minute on foot from the station. This cafe is in front of bus rotary, so it is convenient when you wait for a bus. Also, you can pay with Suica (PASMO). This cafe has a good atmosphere and you can kill time easily. If you smoke cigarettes there is a smoking room. If you want to eat various types of hamburger, please go to Becker's!!

Fourth blog☆Donmaru [ 丼丸 ]

In this post I will write about 'Donmaru'. I knew Donmaru for the first time at Tsurumi. This shop is a little different from the shops which I introduced before, but it's my favorite spot. Donmaru is a shop specializing in seafood bowls. There is no eat-in space, so it's take-out only. This shop is small, but the server is friendly. A sushi bar began this shop, and it now has shops nationwide. In this shop, there are more than 50 kinds of seafood bowls, so I can't choose an order every time. Most seafood bowls are 500 yen or 600 yen, they taste so good and you get a large volume at a low price. The server makes it after you ordrer it so you can have a fresh seafood bowl every time.

This photo's seafood bowl is 'Kaisen don' ( 500 yen ). This seafood bowl contains tuna, young Japanese gizzard shad, salmon, squid, scallop, salmon roe, and deep-water shrimp.Various types of seafood are in this and it's so good. It's the most popular seafood bowl in this shop, and it's recommended by the server. I sometimes order Kaisen don.

This seafood bowl is 'Uogashi don' ( 600 yen ). This is one of the popular seafood bowls too. This seafood bowl contains tuna, squid, salmon roe, sea urchin, minced tuna mixed with chopped green onion. Some contains seafood are different from 'Kaisen don'. I often eat this seafood bowl. I recommend Kaisen don and Uogashi don if you want to eat various kinds of seafood.

My favorite seafood bowl is 'Kani ikura don' ( 600 yen ). There is a lot of crab in it. I like crab and salmon roe. It's really delicious.

All seafood bowls are regular size. You can change the rice to a large serving for 100 yen and the sushi topping to a large serving for 200 yen. If you want to make rice and the sushi topping a large serving, you can change it for 300 yen. If your order is more than 1,620 yen, the server can deliver it to you.

When I go to this shop, some people wait for their order. This shop is popular. I think that I want this shop to have a location everywhere. This restaurant has a stamp card service, so you can get a discount.

The location of the Donmaru where I went is near the Keikyu Tsurumi station in the building next to 'Hotto Motto'. It take four minutes on foot from the station. This shop is increasing its locations steadily. If you like seafood, please go to this shop. You can find your favorite seafood bowls at Donmaru!
